Locating The Disturbance In Violent Offenders: Self, System, Society?
22 - 24 May 2025
PROGRAMME
Thursday 22nd May 2024 - Pre-conference Event
Title:
Venue:
Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th May 2025 - Full Conference Days
This special conference wishes to welcome not only those who specialise in forensic mental health, probation, and lawyers but especially, all of our colleagues in the fields of counselling, psychology, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, social work, and other related arenas.
Forensic services are evolving in Australia and New Zealand. Ongoing challenges include an over representation of First Nations people in the prison system, high rates of adverse childhood experiences, mental illness, trauma and substance abuse. Mental health services are over stretched and not able to meet demand.
Our speakers will include esteemed psychotherapists, mental health professionals, lawyers, academics and social activists from many countries.
This conference will be of great interest to both those who already work in the field, or who are new to it and would like to know more.
