33rd Annual Conference - Sydney
Justice Health Administration Centre
1300 Anzac Parade, Matraville, NSW 2036
Locating The Disturbance In Violent Offending: Self, System, Society?
22 - 24 May 2025

PROGRAMME
Thursday 22nd - Saturday 24th May 2025
This special conference wishes to welcome not only those who specialise in forensic mental health, probation, and lawyers but especially, all of our colleagues in the fields of counselling, psychology, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, social work, and other related arenas.
Forensic services are evolving in Australia and New Zealand. Ongoing challenges include an over representation of First Nations people in the prison system, high rates of adverse childhood experiences, mental illness, trauma and substance abuse. Mental health services are over stretched and not able to meet demand.
Our speakers will include esteemed psychotherapists, mental health professionals, lawyers, academics and social activists from various countries.
This conference will be of great interest to both those who already work in the field, or who are new to it and would like to know more.
For those who cannot travel, we are offering the option to watch the keynote sessions via live streaming. All delegates will be able to access recordings of these sessions free of charge for 90 days after the end of the conference, after which they will available to purchase on our website.
